The operation of a WeldControl machine is truly unique, offering a welding approach that no other system can provide. The operator can either rely on the interactive hydraulic and control unit for assistance throughout the welding process or select manual mode to make the joint entirely “by hand”. ◾ In WeldControl mode, the system guides the operator through the entire welding process once the pipe parameters have been entered or confirmed. This includes monitoring the operator’s inputs and recording the complete welding process. WeldControl machines do more than simply provide preset values; they actively facilitate the welding process, for example by automatically reducing the pressure when Auto Mode is enabled. Welding reports contain all the data required for ISO-compliant traceability. ◾ In Manual mode, the display functions as a digital gauge, showing the welding pressures and heating element temperature while providing the operator with all relevant process data at a glance. ◾ Via the USB port, welding data can be exported as either a concise or detailed PDF report to a USB stick or label printer. Data can also be exported in DataWork format, allowing HÜRNER’s DataWork PC software to be used for archiving and managing welding data. ◾ The machine is equipped with a fully enclosed WeldControl hydraulic and control unit with IP54 ingress protection and a maximum operating pressure of 250 bar. Both the heating element and the facing tool are connected directly to the WeldControl hydraulic system, eliminating the need for additional power distribution. Component traceability data, pipe material, diameter, wall thickness and SDR can be entered using the GT keypad and its highly user-friendly menu. All pressures and times relevant to the welding process are automatically calculated, monitored by the WeldControl system and displayed on the screen for the operator. ◾ The machine chassis is mounted on a specially developed support frame designed to provide exceptional resistance to deformation, even under the most demanding pipe parameters. Operators can rely on the chassis remaining stable without tilting or twisting, even when processing very long pipes with substantial wall thicknesses. ◾ Large, knurled handwheels make it easy to open and close the machine clamps on models up to O.D. 315. No tools are required. ◾ The facing tool, equipped with an integrated micro safety switch, is driven by a high-quality power drive via a transmission chain. The precision heating element features a highly durable anti-stick coating. ◾ A dedicated carrying rack is provided for the heating element and facing tool, allowing them to be safely stored while still hot. ◾ For maximum protection during transport and storage, an optional high-quality transport box is available for machines up to O.D. 315. The box has been specially designed to accommodate the complete machine assembly and includes drawer-style compartments for storing the reducer inserts. ◾ A welding neck support is also available for all machine models.
