The handling of a WeldControl machine is truly unique, providing an approach to welding that no other system is able to offer. The operator can either benefit from the assistance of the interactive hydraulic and control unit or select manual mode to perform the welding process manually. WeldControl Mode In WeldControl mode, the system guides the operator through the entire welding process once the pipe parameters have been entered or confirmed. This includes monitoring the operator’s inputs and recording the complete welding process. WeldControl machines provide more than predefined settings. They actively assist the operator throughout the process, for example by automatically reducing the pressure when automatic mode is enabled. Welding reports contain all data required for ISO-compliant traceability. Manual Mode In Manual mode, the display functions as a digital gauge, showing the welding pressures and heating element temperature. All relevant welding data is clearly displayed in one place. Key Features Fully automated pressure control during the bead build-up and cooling stages. Welding data can be transferred via the USB port as either a summary or detailed PDF report to a USB flash drive or label printer. Data can also be exported in HÜRNER DataWork format for archiving and managing welding data using HÜRNER’s DataWork PC software. The machine is equipped with a fully enclosed WeldControl hydraulic and control unit with IP54 protection and operating pressures of up to 250 bar. Both the heating element and facing tool are connected directly to the WeldControl hydraulic system, eliminating the need for additional power distribution. Component traceability data, pipe material, diameter, wall thickness and SDR can be entered using the GT keypad and its highly user-friendly menu. All pressures and times relevant to the welding operation are calculated and monitored by the WeldControl system and displayed on the screen for the operator. The machine chassis is mounted on a specially developed support frame with high resistance to deformation. It easily withstands demanding pipe parameters, ensuring that the chassis does not tilt or twist even when processing very long pipes with thick walls. Large, knurled handwheels provide easy operation for opening and closing the clamps on machines up to O.D. 315 mm. No tools are required. The facing tool features an integrated micro-safety switch and is driven by a high-quality motor through a transmission chain. The precision heating element is equipped with a highly durable anti-stick coating. A dedicated carrying rack is supplied for the heating element and facing tool, providing safe and convenient storage while the components are still hot. For machines up to O.D. 315 mm, an optional high-quality transport case is available. It is specifically designed to protect the complete machine assembly and features drawer-style compartments for storing the reducer inserts. A welding neck support is also available for all machine models.
