PVDF - polyvinylidene fluoride
PVDF – Polvinylidenfluorid – polyvinylidene fluoride
Application: PVDF is used heavily within the chemical industry and elsewhere, that use corrosive liquids and high temperatures. It is used for the manufacture of valves, seals, pumpedele, thought, fittings and pipes.
Fire: PVDF is self-extinguishing. Flammable class UL94 V0. By brand split up toxic fluorine compounds.
Bending. Outstanding both bending worth, and the thin sheets of hot wire.
Features electric: ≥ 1×1012 Oh·m. Strong piezoelectrisk effect.
Colors: PVDF in an undyed state milky white / faint yellowish.
Moisture absorption: 50%RF %< 0,05
Physiological properties: Can be used for food contact. Qualify for FDA approval. Flour plastic not attacked by microorganisms.
History: 1961 – Production of PVDF starts. I 1969 was the strong piezoelectriske effect in the PVDF discovered.
Trade names: Kynar
Identification fire test: Self-extinguishing, When heated above 350 ° released toxic fumes.
Category: PVDF st and delkrystallinsk materiale, and belongs to the group of fluorine patch.
Chemical resistance: PVDFer known for its good chemical properties. PVDF is resistant to most acids and weak bases, as well as being useful in hot water and steam. PVDF is not resistant to alkali, flourgasser, acetone, acetate, caustic soda and hot dilute sulfuric acid.
Chemical structure: PVDF is highly crystalline kædepolymeriserede thermoplastic with high density in the material. Density 1,78 g/cm3
Delivery: sheets, rods and tubes, fittings and valves.
Bonding: difficult.
mechanical Properties: PVDF is known for its good mechanical features- and trykstyrke. It is a very pure material with relatively good strength- and friction properties. Ball pressure hardness 110 N/mm2, Tensile Strength 50 MPa, Elasticitetsmodul 2200 MPa, Kærvsejhed 10 KJ/m2, Friction 0,3 . Have low tendency to cold flow and good rigidity.
Environment: When heated above 350 ° released toxic fumes. Avoid tobacco smoking by machining.
Surface treatment: difficult
Cleaning: withstands steam.
Assembly (mechanical): Excellent
Injection molding: Widely used.
Cutting: Possible
Welding: Welding: Heat Mirror, extruder welding, hot air welding 360-400ºC, friction welding or ultrasonic welding.
Butt Welding temperature: 240°C +/- 8°C
Thermal Properties: PVDF is very resistant aging, also when used under high temperatures or in hot water. Expansion coefficient 10-5 / ° C 14
PVDF may be used generally in the temperature range -30 to 130 ° C – short term up to 150 ° C. Melting ca. 170ºC.
UV- Stability PVDF er UV-stabilt.
Thermoforming (Termoformning): possible, but difficult
