PE Pipe Squeeze Off
PE Pipe Squeeze Off
Clamping with pipe clamps is used for temporary closure of PEHD pipes.
Pipe clamps are intended for closing gas or water-filled PE pipes that are not under pressure.
Never clamp more than stop allows, further clamping will simply damage the tool.
Clamping tools with jacks where the hydraulic piston is not stainless must be kept lubricated with grease / stored indoors when not in use.
PE80 and PE100 pipes, SDR 17 and SDR 11 can be clamped with and without PP protective cover.
For pipe clamping, the double wall thickness must not be reduced to a maximum of 80%.
Squeezing should not take place closer than 4 x the diameter of the pipe from welds, moldings and the like. Squeezing should not be done where the pipe has previously been squeezed.
After squeezing, mark the squeezed area with tape or marker pen.
When using smaller clamping tools, use a threaded spindle for clamping pressure. The threaded spindle also acts as a fixed hold.
When using hydraulic clamping tool. including jack types, the hydraulics are used for clamping, after which a fixed hold of clamping is established.
When squeezing especially larger pipes, complete closure cannot be expected. 2 pcs can be used. pipe clamps with drilling in between, to counteract this.
Keep threaded spindles and hydraulic clean and lubricated, with acid-free oil. Do not leave squeezing unattended.
Always use pipe supplier’s instructions.
